The stairs can be installed on either end and includes a bookcase on the opposite end of the stairs. The 12-chest drawers are double depth at 23″ front to back. The finish is a very durable laminate surface (similar to Formica) which is impervious to liquids and is scratch & heat-resistant. Nail polish, polish removers, make-up, pencil, pen & markers are a few common household products that are easily removed with any non-abrasive cleaning product. Made in the USA.
